The “I do diy wedding fair”

We like doing wedding fairs, getting out to talk weddings is a joy and we get to meet some lovely people, potential customers as well as fellow exhibitors.

Chair covers aside, the rest of our products border on being a bit quirky so being invited to join a wedding fair with a twist, we won’t ever say no to that.

Yesterday, we were at Duncton Village Hall for a fair organised by Kirsty and Dee.  This one promised to be different with yurts outside, a horse box bar and a chap on a bike dishing out ice creams!  There was more tasty food to try than you can shake a stick at including canapés, 75 flavours of candy floss and ice cream.  You could literally have come there for lunch!
Our next door neighbour for the day was Laura from Kraizy Designs.  She had some fabulous stationary designs and we may well work together on some chalkboard designs in the near future.  We saw our friend Eloise from Tents & Events who provide wonderful marquis with all the trimmings.  Hire Your day were also there with a selection of props you can hire to make your day extra special.  Mavis and Mike’s Ice Cream Trike were attracting a queue of people with their ice cream samples!

All in all, a rather fab day and if you missed it, watch out for our next wedding fair on the 19th of February at Lodge Hill.

Real weddings – starting the year as I mean to go on…

Kate and Kevin got married on Friday the 30th December.  They had their ceremony at Arundel Town Hall (where we spend a L O T of time) then went across to the Norfolk Arms for their reception.  They chose hessian sashes for their rustic theme.  Hessian can be difficult to get right, you need the right details for it to work, hessian table runners and bunting help do the trick.  Kate and Kevin’s details were perfect!

Kate is also a wedding cake maker and surpassed herself with this one!

Congratulations you two, we hope 2017 is the start of an amazing life together.

And the award for best view goes to…..

We are lucky enough to go and visit some stunning wedding venues.  Yesterday we did the chair covers for Jo and Aaron’s wedding at the hotel at Brighton Marina.

This hotel had the best view and a little terrace which the Chair Cover Elves took full advantage of…!

Rosie and Sam got hitched!

A few weeks ago, we decorated The Waterside Hotel in Brighton for Rosie and Sam’s purplesque (new word?!) wedding.  Their wedding was really personal, filled with their characters and personalities.  Rosie made a lot of the decorations  herself.  The favours were glass bottle of coke with all their guest’s names on and there were activities on the tables to amuse the children.   For the ceremony, Rosie had made paper flowers which decorated the aisle and they had an archway to say their vows under.  Our friends at Zest took the formal photos and I’m hoping to cadge a few once they have wedited them and presented them to Rosie and Sam.  In the meantime, here are some shots I took once we’d set up:

All of us at BFC wish you both a lifetime of happiness and joy!  Congratulations Rosie and Sam xx

Andy and Rachel’s beautiful blue and butterfly wedding.

It’s always an honour to share a couple’s big day, even if it is in a fairly small way.

We met Andy and Rachel at the Amex wedding fair last year.  They knew they wanted blue but weren’t aware how many blues there actually are!  They settled on a strong royal blue paired with a soft sky blue which looked stunning together.

They got hitched yesterday at the Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells.  A lovely venue with gorgeous grounds.  It was a bit of a grey and drizzly start but the sun won the battle and I hope they managed to get some sunny shots!
